The Philodendron atabapoense is a tropical climbing plant native to the Amazonian rainforests of Venezuela and Brazil. It is renowned for its elongated, dark green leaves with a striking burgundy underside, offering a unique visual contrast.
• Size: Under optimal conditions, it can reach heights between 4 to 8 feet, with leaves extending up to 30 inches in length.
• Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight may damage its foliage.
• Watering: Keep the soil slightly moist, allowing the top layer to dry out between waterings. Avoid waterlogging to prevent root rot.
• Humidity: Requires humidity levels between 65% and 70%. Misting the leaves or using a humidifier can help maintain these conditions.
• Temperature: Ideal temperatures range from 55°F to 80°F (12°C to 26°C). It does not tolerate temperatures below 55°F (12°C).
• Soil: Prefers a well-draining mix rich in organic matter to ensure proper root aeration.
